Crabtree Falls and Ravens Roost in VA

I finally made it out to the falls when there was some water running! I didn't plan on doing the hike and by the time we got there it was too late to even consider, so we enjoyed the lower two levels of the falls and headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway for the ride home and stopped at the Ravens Roost overlook for a nice sunset.

It is a few days early before it is officially 'Spring'. This is the perfect sign that it is here already~ robins and green grass coming up :o)

Still playing around with the 'one shot' HDR, this is done in Lightroom and then Nik HDR.

So Inspired...To Try a 'One Shot' HDR :o)

After looking at Brian Moran's Seaworld series...I had to give it a try :o)

This is the shot that came to my mind when I thought about what I already had, it was taken in July of 2009.

Made two other shots +/- 1 and merged them in Photomatix and came out with this



Converted this to B/W in Corel Paint Shop Pro...



And...then realized Nik HDR would let you make an hdr image actually using just one, this one is using Nik's 'Granny's Attic' preset (I don't really care for it, just thought it was different without being too much)

Have fallen in love with the HDR processing and am doing my best to learn how!

Added another picture and adjusted the wb...on the river shot...think it looks a bit better than the original.
